One of the first questions families ask is:
“How many appointments will we need?”
The answer depends on the type of assessment and the person’s age, but a comprehensive assessment is much more than completing questionnaires.
It involves gathering information from multiple sources, including interviews, standardised assessments, behavioural observations and, where appropriate, information from schools or other health professionals.
Taking the time to understand the whole person helps ensure that any diagnosis is accurate and that recommendations are meaningful and tailored to their individual strengths and needs.
My goal is to make the process as clear and supportive as possible, so you’ll know what to expect at each stage.
If you’re considering an assessment and aren’t sure where to start, I’m always happy to answer your questions.
