Specific Learning Disorders Assessments

Specific Learning Disorders are where a child or has significant difficulty in one or more academic areas (such as reading or maths) while doing well in others other areas of their daily life. There are different types of specific learning disorders, with dyslexia being the most well-known.

In addition to her background in psychology, Naomi has an education qualification and started her career working in schools as a school psychologist.

A specific learning disorder assessment with Naomi will include the following:

  1. A clinical interview 
  2. Academic skills assessment
  3. A cognitive (intellectual) assessment 
  4. Consultation with schools and therapists
  5. Other rating scales to screen for attention/executive functioning and mental health concerns (such as anxiety or depression) if needed 
  6. A feedback session at the end of the assessment to talk through the findings and recommendations with report provided.

For adults, the assessment will be tailored based on the initial appointment.
